Andy Havlovic, Executive Chef, Professor
Chef Andy Havlovic graduated from the DMACC Culinary Arts program in 2006 and is proud to have been the first student to receive the Marge Anderson French Chef Exchange Scholarship. He was very excited to return to the ICI in January 2024 as a full-time Chef instructor, and to have the opportunity to teach and mentor the next generation of student chefs.
Chef Havlovic has held Executive Chef Roles in Minnesota, Maryland, Arizona, and the British Virgin Islands. Most recently he was the Executive Chef of RoCA in Des Moines.
His vast experiences as an Executive Chef helped shaped his unique culinary approach which he has enjoyed sharing with ICI students. Chef Havlovic has enjoyed the opportunity to share his baking expertise gained while working in the bakeshop at The Café in Ames with ICI students in summer term baking classes.
