DMACC Campus Security
Local community law enforcement and DMACC campus security are provided as deemed appropriate for the safety and security of the DMACC community. Security measures at each DMACC location may include uniformed security officers, closed circuit television, building security systems, interior and exterior lighting, and emergency notification systems. DMACC Security personnel provide a variety of public services to the college community. These services may include assisting in vehicle starts, vehicle unlocking, faculty, staff and student security escorts to and from vehicles, and basic first aid care.
DMACC does not provide security presence directly on leased, privately operated grounds inside DMACC contiguous property such as Campus View apartments. DMACC Security officers patrol and monitor Borgen Square Apartments on the Boone Campus. At DMACC locations that do not have on-site security local law enforcement assists the College in those respective jurisdictions to provide and maintain a safe and secure campus environment.
DMACC Security officer presence is provided as follows:
Ankeny: 24/7 all year
Boone: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (Mon - Fri)

On-Campus Emergencies
For General Campus Security:
Dial 5-6500 on campus, or 515-964-6500 off campus.
For a SERIOUS Emergency:
Dial 8-911 **Ankeny Police, Fire, or EMT services**
(In the event of a complete power outage, simply dial 911 direct.)
Ankeny Police will be dispatched to DMACC even if you cannot speak or understand what is being said. If possible, voice the number of the building where you are in need of assistance clearly and slowly (i.e., "DMACC Ankeny Campus Building 6"). DMACC Campus Security will be dispatched after they are notified by the Ankeny Police Department that there is a serious emergency at the DMACC campus.
For Security Concerns: If you cannot speak or hear, dial 1111 and hang up. (This will trigger an alert for the DMACC Security Department. The location information of the phone will be sent automatically.)
