DMACC's Business Degree Noted Among “Best in the Nation" for Entrepreneurship
DMACC's online Business Administration AAS Degree moved up in the national rankings this year and is now ranked as the No. 3 online business program among two-year colleges and as the best two-year program for entrepreneurship, according to Intelligent.com, an online magazine and resource dedicated to students. Last year, DMACC's business degree was ranked No. 6.
Intelligent.com, based in Seattle, Washington, assessed 2,277 accredited colleges throughout the United States for every program and curriculum that was evaluated. DMACC was among 188 schools assessed in the category of “Best Associate's Degree in Business Administration Program."
Each program was evaluated based on curriculum quality, graduation rate, reputation and post-graduate employment.
“We've known that DMACC's business program offers high-quality instruction, but this ranking demonstrates its true uniqueness and reveals that we have one of the best online business degree offerings and the best for entrepreneurs," said Jeanie McCarville Kerber, Acting Dean of the DMACC School of Business and Information Technology. “Our business faculty are dedicated to providing not only the theories behind business, but the practical applications of accounting, management and marketing. Our students will be successful either working or owning a business."
Each year, more than 1,000 students are enrolled in the DMACC Business Administration Program, which offered across all six DMACC campuses. This year, due to COVID-19 pandemic, business classes are being offered through virtual instruction by DMACC professors or online for the semester.
The education service said that business careers will remain in high demand, with employers set to hire for 750,000 jobs in business over the next seven years.
McCarville said DMACC has also taken a number of steps to improve the online experience, including more access to live instruction and greater engagement in online classes.
The 2021 Intelligent.com rankings are calculated through a unique scoring system, which includes student engagement, potential return on investment and leading third-party evaluations. Intelligent.com analyzed thousands of schools with comparable programs on a scale of 0 to 100.
The methodology uses an algorithm that collects and analyzes multiple rankings into one score to easily compare each university's degree program.
Luna Community College in Las Vegas, N.M., and Delgado Community College in New Orleans were ranked first and second, respectively.
